India BIS Mandatory Certification Products
Data Description
BIS certified products are those that have obtained mandatory certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to be legally sold in India, bearing the ISI mark. Under India's Quality Control Orders (QCOs) or Compulsory Registration Orders (CROs), products listed in the compulsory certification list must obtain BIS certification for customs clearance. Over hundreds of product categories are currently covered, including IT products, batteries, electronics, and chemicals. BIS certification mainly involve four mandatory schemes: Scheme-I Indian Standards Institution (ISI) Mark Scheme, Scheme-II Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS), Scheme-IV Grant of Certificate of Conformity (CoC), and Scheme-X Certification.
India BIS products database allows smart searching by IS No. (Indian Standard) or product name to quickly determine if a product falls under QCOs/CROs scope. Results include IS No., product description, category, and certification type.
All data is sourced from official QCOs/CROs published in the Gazette of India. Once a QCO/CRO takes effect, no person may manufacture, import, distribute, sell, or store the product without a valid BIS license or Certificate of Conformity (CoC).
