List of Concerned Chemical Substances
Currently, 19 concerned chemical substances have been designated through updates to the relevant appendices of the Categories and Management of Handling for Concerned Chemical Substances. These substances are categorized into three types according to management needs, including:
Appendix 1 - chemical substances of livelihood concerns;
Appendix 2 - chemical substances of food safety concerns; and
Appendix 3 - chemical substances of explosive precursors.
The appendices provide details on chemical identification, control concentrations, if it is hazardous, specified handling, graded operational quantities, regular reporting frequency, exception, container and packaging rules, and record-keeping requirements.
1. Approval: Handling activities involving concerned chemicals must apply for approval and operate according to the stipulations in the approval documents.
2. Record Keeping and Reporting: Handlers must maintain records and submit them periodically. For hazardous concerned chemicals, owners must declare transport manifest prior to transporting these substances.
3. Prevention and Labeling: Compliance with labeling and safety data sheet requirements is mandatory, along with provisions for emergency equipment, detection alarms, and technical personnel.
