List of the Controlled Chemicals

Controlled chemicals in Taiwan are specified in Appendix 1 of the Regulations Governing Designation and Handling Permission of Controlled Chemicals, a subordinate regulation of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). These chemicals pose high exposure risks.

Manufacturers, importers, suppliers, or employers must submit handling information to apply for a permit through the Permit and Report of Chemicals (PRoChem) platform before handling controlled chemicals. No handling, including manufacturing, importing, supplying, or providing for workers to handle or use, may commence without permission.
After obtaining the permit, actual handling information must be updated on the PRoChem platform between April and September each year. The permit and related application materials should be retained for at least five years for reference, while workers’ exposure information must be documented and kept for at least ten years.
