UK REACH Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHCs) for authorisation

The "List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)" is a list of chemical substances that have certain hazardous properties and have drawn significant attention from humans under the UK REACH regulations. According to Article 57 of the UK REACH regulations, there are the following types of SVHC:
• 1A or 1B substances that are carcinogenic, mutagenic, or have reproductive toxicity, namely CMR 1A or 1B substances;
• Persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic substances, namely PBT substances;
• Highly persistent and highly bioaccumulative substances, namely vPvB substances;
• Substances that cause the same level of concern as CMR or PBT/vPvB substances, such as endocrine-disrupting substances.
Since the UK REACH regulations designate SVHC as candidate substances for authorization (UK REACH Annex XIV), the SVHC list is also known as the candidate list.

Once listed, if the content of SVHC in a substance, mixture, or article exceeds 0.1% (w/w), the supplier must fulfill the obligation of information transmission to the downstream, providing safety data sheets or instructions for safe use. If the SVHC content in an article exceeds 0.1% (w/w) and the annual tonnage exceeds 1 ton, SVHC notification is also required.

As the list contains substance groups, and some of the listed chemical substances  only marked with EC No., more information is required to verify the regulatory status of the substance.
